Sights/Optics: The front sight is a hooded adjustable post and the rear sight is a u-notched sliding escalator marked from 1 to 10 and "n" for the battle position.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is wood with a wooden upper handguard, steel buttplate with trap door for cleaning kit (not included), sling swivel in the bottom of the buttstock and finger grooves in the forend. The left side of the gas block has a sling ring. The bottom of the barrel has a provision for a spring bayonet that has been removed. The wood shows scattered pressure dings and drag lines, with some notable scuffs on the right side. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This pre-ban Factory 26 Type 56 SKS was manufactured in 1966 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced at China's famous Factory 26 by Jianshe Machine Factory, the Type 56 SKS is one of the best-known variants of Simonov's rugged self-loading rifle. Factory 26 was the original producer of the Chinese SKS and is widely regarded by collectors as the most desirable manufacturing arsenal.
