Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the barrel. There are three taps on the top of the receiver for mounting an optic, though none is present.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate has light wear and a small ding on the edge. The furniture shows light pressure dings and surface scratches scattered throughout. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Nonoriginal, the top of the receiver has been gone over with cold blue

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There are only a couple very small flecks of oxidation in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its nonoriginal metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, scratches, rub marks, and a some small oxidation spots. The screw heads are faintly tooled and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1955 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the final years of Model 63 production, the rifle reflects the fully matured design that had made it one of Winchester’s most successful semi-automatic rimfire sporting arms.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this tube-fed semi-automatic rifle maintains the classic configuration favored for small game and recreational shooting. The action functions correctly.
