Sights/Optics: The front sight is a Marbles white beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate has very light wear. The furniture shows some light pressure dings and surface scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with faint fouling. There is no erosion the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, spots of thinning, surface scratches, and infrequent freckling. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1946 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the first year of resumed civilian production following World War II, the Model 63 represents Winchester's return to the sporting rifle market. The rifle had already earned a strong reputation for smooth operation and dependable performance by this time.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 20 inch barrel, this tube-fed semi-automatic rifle reflects the earlier barrel length configuration offered on the Model 63. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, with excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.

This rifle retains approximately 85% of its original metal finish, showing honest wear consistent with age and use. The furniture rates in Fine condition with clean lines and minimal visible blemishes. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition and stands as a strong example of a 1946 Winchester Model 63 in its early postwar configuration.
