Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded post dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a Marbles u-notch adjustable for elevation.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear with minor blemishes. The furniture shows pressure dings, surface scratches, and some old blemishes that have been finished over. There are three small cracks on the forend running from the receiver. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There are a few very minor flecks of oxidation in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 70% of its original metal finish. The finish is starting to turn to patina and shows edge wear, occasional freckling, and scattered scratches. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1952 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the strong postwar sporting arms era, the Model 63 had firmly established itself as one of Winchester's most dependable semi-automatic rimfire rifles. The 1952 production falls within the later years of the model's long and successful run.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this tube-fed semi-automatic rifle reflects the classic sporting configuration favored for small game and recreational shooting. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.

This rifle retains approximately 70 percent of its original metal finish, showing visible but honest wear consistent with age and field use. The furniture rates in Very Good condition with light handling marks. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition and stands as a solid example of a 1952 Winchester Model 63 in .22 LR.
