Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade dovetailed to a base integral to the muzzle. The blade has a little orange paint on it. The rear sight is a fixed U-notch integral to the rear toggle.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip are two-piece checkered wood. The grips have minor handling wear with a few light marks. The fit of the right panel may indicate it has been replaced. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is well defined. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blue and Strawed

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are a scattered minor marks, most visible in the matte-finished areas at the top-rear of the frame on each side. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, the pistol is in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box Paperwork and Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of two 8-round magazines.

Our Assessment: The Luger is perhaps the most aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing of all autoloading centerfire pistols. It is also one of the strongest, most accurate and most recognizable service pistols ever made. Georg Luger developed his famous pistol in 1898-1899, essentially a much improved Borchardt type pistol. The Luger was so reliable and well liked that it was still being made and issued to German troops during WWII well after the P38 was adopted by the army. The largest percentage of Lugers were made by DWM, which became Mauser in 1930. After WWII, the demand for Luger pistols gradually picked back-up and copies of the original Luger pistols were made by Mauser as well as Stoeger.

This pistol was made by Mauser and imported by Interarms. It has a grip safety as well as a manual safety and an American Eagle engraved on the top of the chamber ring, reminiscent of the 1906 model Parabellum. The pistol comes with a brace of magazines and shows signs of light use. This pistol will be great for those wanting a piece of German history and for those collectors with an interest in German weaponry. This pistol represents the last of the Lugers made by Mauser, and are a must-have for any Luger collector. There aren't going to be any more made, so they are just going to get more scarce.
