Markings: The barrel is marked "BLACK POWDER ONLY .36 CAL." and "F.LLI PIETTA – MADE IN ITALY." The cylinder has the classic Naval Battle roll-engraving scene. The frame and barrel assembly are clearly stamped with matching serial number 449227, along with Italian proof marks.

Sights / Optics: Front Sight: Brass bead integral to the barrel. Rear Sight: A notch in the hammer, aligning with the front bead when cocked.

Grip Configuration & Condition: Smooth, varnished walnut grips, factory original, and free of notable imperfections. The grips rate Like New.

Type of Finish: Blued Barrel & Cylinder, Case Hardened Frame, Brass Grip Frame

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore but there is stubborn fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver is Like New In Box, showing no visible wear or signs of use beyond factory testing.  The cylinder is Like New, retaining all factory engraving details and showing no signs of use. All finishes remain vibrant, markings are crisp and clear, and screw heads are sharp. The revolver rates overall in Excellent, Like New condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer locks securely at half- and full-cock, the cylinder indexes precisely and locks tightly, and the trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all black powder firearms, a thorough cleaning and inspection is recommended before use. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
