Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered plastic panels. There are no notable blemishes other than some red debris stuck in the checkering. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with stubborn fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The finish shows light scratches on the frame and some light oxidation on the right side of the trigger guard. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this pistol rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Para Ordnance Model P16.40 is a full-size, double-stack 1911-pattern pistol chambered in .40 S&W. Produced by Para-Ordnance, the P16.40 was one of the pioneering high-capacity 1911 designs and helped establish the modern double-stack 1911 concept that would later evolve into today's 2011-style competition pistols. The combination of classic 1911 ergonomics with increased magazine capacity made the P16-40 a favorite among competitive shooters and enthusiasts.

Chambered in .40 S&W with a 5 inch barrel, this pistol is well suited for competition, range use, and personal defense. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.
