This lot features a pair of North & Judd Manufacturing Co. cowboy spurs fitted with Bohlin Hollywood leather spur straps. The spurs are constructed of brass with star rowels and decorative engraving along the shanks. The leather straps are stamped "BOHLINMADE CALIF. HOLLYWOOD," identifying them as products of the famous Bohlin saddle shop of Hollywood, California. The straps feature decorative floral tooling and engraved silver colored buckles.

Edward H. Bohlin began producing Western gear in Hollywood around 1923 and became well known for supplying high quality custom leather and silver mounted gear to working cowboys and Hollywood film stars. His shop produced some of the most recognizable Western riding equipment of the 20th century. Bohlin continued operating until his death in 1980, after which the company passed through several owners before being purchased by William Reynolds in 1997.

The spurs themselves were produced by North & Judd Manufacturing Co. of New Britain, Connecticut. Founded in 1878, the company registered its well known Anchor Brand trademark in 1879 and became one of the largest producers of Western hardware. North & Judd later expanded by acquiring the August Buermann Company in 1926 and O.B. North & Co. in 1930, continuing production of many Buermann styles along with their own Anchor Brand products.

The spurs show light patina and honest wear consistent with use, while the leather straps remain attractive with visible tooling and clear maker stamps.
