Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade in the center of a shallow “U” channel that runs along the top of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide. The top of the slide has a matte finish to reduce glare.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut with smooth borders. There are a couple scattered little marks and compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is well defined. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn copper fouling on the edges of the grooves. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9+ out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks, mostly in the grip areas. The action shows faint operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide locks back on an empty magazine and is held back until a new magazine is inserted. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Mauser Model HSc pistols were made by the Germans during WWII and later by the French when they took over their factory and tooling. It was originally intended as Mauser’s response to the Walther PPK, and the HSc competed with the Walther and Sauer 38H pistols for police and military use. This pistol is a later German manufacture model imported by Interarms. It is nickel-plated with checkered walnut grips and a 3 1/4” barrel. The pistol is in Excellent condition with about 98% of its metal finish remaining. This little compact pistol looks like it would be a lot of fun to shoot, and operates in both single and double action. This finely made pistol will appeal to the Mauser collector who wants to round out his/her collection with a post WWII model. It will also make a nice carry gun that can be carried cocked and locked for a more accurate first shot in single action. Please see our photos and good luck!
