Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade in the center of a shallow “U” channel that runs along the top of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide. The top of the slide has a matte finish to reduce glare.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut with smooth borders. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original, slide and barrel are serial-matched to the frame.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, just some stubborn copper fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a hinge-lid Muaser HSc American Eagle Edition case with serial-matching sleeve, manual, serial-matching test target, bore brush, a serial-matching sales receipt (not dated), and a total of two 7 round Mauser magazines, one flush-fit and one with a pinky extension. The plastic pinky extension has cracked across the bottom at the retaining spring.

Our Assessment: The Mauser Model HSc pistols were made by the Germans during WWII and later by the French when they took over their factory and tooling. It was originally intended as Mauser’s response to the Walther PPK, and the HSc competed with the Walther and Sauer 38H pistols for police and military use. This pistol is a later German manufactured model produced after the 1968 import ban and imported by Interarms. It is blued with checkered walnut grips and a 3 1/4” barrel. This is a limited edition American Eagle model number 3485 of 5000. This little compact pistol looks like it would be a lot of fun to shoot, and operates in both single and double action. It has a slide hold-open feature that doesn’t allow the slide to cycle forward on an empty magazine until the magazine is removed and then re-inserted. The pistol is in absolutely Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in its included case than out. It comes with manual, serial-matching test target, and a brace of magazines. In its high condition, this finely made pistol will appeal to the Mauser collector who wants to round out his/her collection with a post-WWII model. Please see our photos and good luck!
