Sights/Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade atop a serrated base screwed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is tapped to receive an optic, though none is present.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood set with a smooth straight wrist grip, straight comb, smooth forend, and checkered synthetic buttplate. The buttplate has light handling wear. The furniture shows only a few minor pressure dings. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13.25" from the face of the trigger to the butt. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The finish shows light edge wear, scattered scratches/scrub marks, and finish wear on top of the receiver where an optic used to be mounted. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Fine condition.

Our Assessment: This Marlin Model 39TDS was manufactured between 1988 and 1989 and represents one of the more sought-after variations of Marlin's historic Model 39 rimfire series. Produced by Marlin Firearms, the 39TDS (Take-Down System) combined the proven Model 39 action with a compact takedown design, allowing the rifle to be easily separated for transport and storage. The Model 39 family traces its origins to the 19th century and remains one of the longest-running lever-action rimfire designs ever produced.
