Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade with a serrated face dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is tapped to receive an optic, though none is present.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight wrist grip, straight comb, smooth forend, and checkered synthetic buttplate. The buttplate has minimal wear. The furniture shows only some minor pressure dings. There is a faint crack running from the lower tang. The LOP measures 13.25" from the face of the trigger to the butt. The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The finish shows some minor freckling, scratches at the muzzle, and some pitting on the forend cap. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Marlin Model 39 Carbine was manufactured in 1965 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Marlin Firearms, the Model 39 series is one of the most respected lever-action rimfire designs ever produced and traces its heritage back to the late 19th century. The Carbine variant offers a shorter, handier configuration while retaining the solid steel construction and takedown capability that made the Model 39 famous.

Chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle with a 20 inch barrel, this rifle provides exceptional versatility for target shooting, plinking, and small game hunting. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates a perfect 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly.

The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition with only light handling wear. This firearm retains approximately 97% of its original metal finish, presenting a very clean and well-preserved appearance.
