Sights / Optics: The rifle is equipped with a fixed front blade dovetailed to the barrel and a rear notch sight mounted along the top flat of the octagonal barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle features a full-length tiger maple stock with striking, well-defined curl throughout. The wood exhibits deep striping from butt to fore-end, creating a dramatic visual presentation. The stock is fitted with brass furniture including a full-length brass patchbox with engraved-style contouring, brass buttplate, brass trigger guard, brass ramrod thimbles, brass forend cap, and brass sideplate. The stock shows light handling marks consistent with careful use. The patchbox has been nailed shut. There is a small crack above the side plate. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition and presents exceptionally well.

Finish Originality: Original to the build

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is minor fouling. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains approximately 95% of its applied barrel finish with minor handling marks along high points. The brass furniture shows light surface wear and natural patina, complementing the richly figured maple. The lock and frizzen exhibit light use marks appropriate for a flint ignition system. Screws remain serviceable with minimal marring. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The flintlock does not hold at full cock unless the trigger is manually pushed forward. This may be an issue with the adjustable trigger. Otherwise, the action functions properly. The frizzen operates smoothly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Accessories: Wooden ramrod present.
