Barrel Length: 28" Vent Rib

Choke: Fixed SKEET/SKEET.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small white bead there also a small brass mid bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture on this shotgun is a two piece checkered Walnut set. The forend is a round profile. The stock has a capped semi-pistol grip with a fluted straight comb and vented rubber buttpad. The length of pull is 14", the cast is neutral, the drop at comb is 1.5" and the drop at heel is 2". The wood shows scattered surface level lines, and compressions with a notable rub mark on the right side of the forend just behind the checkering. There is a notable compression on the left cheek of the stock. There is a barely visible crack forming at the rear edge of the upper tang. There are no chips. The butt pad is semi-pliable and shows only minor wear. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The smooth bores are mirror bright and there is no erosion present. The bores show no visible plastic fouling or lines from use. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 10/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The left side of the barrel set shows some minor scattered oxidation. The silver plated finish shows some worn spots and tarnish from handling mainly on the lower tang and rear of the trigger guard. The upper tang shows minor wear from the safety. The lower barrel shows some white marks. The monobloc and inside of the action show minor rub wear from use. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall this shotgun is in Very Good+ condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The lockup is tight with no perceivable play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This SKB Model 600 Skeet, produced for Ithaca circa 1974-1978, is a refined sub-gauge over/under chambered in .410 with 2.5" chambers and 28" barrels set up with fixed Skeet over Skeet chokes. The barrel length and true skeet choke configuration make this shotgun ideal for skeet shooting and sub gauge sporting clays.
