Both barrel sets are marked with warnings and "Franchi S.p.A.-BRESCIA-MADE IN ITALY". The 12GA "12 G.a.-CHAMBERED 3"-CHROME-MOLY STEEL 3154 FH04822 BP". The 20GA "20 Ga 3"-FOR 2 3/4" or 3" SHELLS 213058 FH24765 BS", "IMPORTED BY BENELLI USA CORP. ACCOKEEK (MD)-MADE IN ITALY MOD. ALCIONE". Both sets have all the usual Italian proofs.

Barrel Length: Both 26"

Choke: Both barrels are threaded for Mobil choke pattern chokes. Both sets include Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder 3 chokes total for each gauge.

Sights / Optics: Both sets have a large white bead front sight affixed to a serrated rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece checkered walnut set with Schnabel tipped finger shelf forend and a semi-pistol grip stock with fluted straight comb and rubber butt pad. The LOP is 14", the drop at comb is 1.5" and the drop at heel is 2". The cast is neutral. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 5oz. The wood shows minor handling and age from storage. There are no chips or cracks. There are a few barely visible surface level lines. The butt pad shows no wear. Overall the furniture is in Excellent+ condition.

Type of Finish: Blued, Coin and Gold.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: All 4 smooth bores are mirror bright with no erosion or pitting. There are no visible patches of plastic fouling or lines from use. If either of these barrel sets were used outside of factory testing it was very little. In this writer's opinion the bores rate 10/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun and the barrel sets retain 99% of their metal finish. The receiver shows only minor wear from being assembled and disassembled. Both barrel sets show very minor rub wear on the monoblocs again most likely from being installed and removed. Both show very minor scattered marks with none being notable. The markings are clear. Overall this set is in about Like New condition showing only age from storage.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up to the receiver with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Franchi Alcione LF is a refined Italian over/under shotgun, and this example, made in 2002, is offered as a desirable two-barrel set. It includes both 12 gauge and 20 gauge barrel sets, each measuring 26" with 3" chambers, giving the shooter excellent versatility across multiple shooting disciplines while retaining the same familiar action and handling characteristics.

Both barrel sets are cut for Mobil-pattern interchangeable chokes and include Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder chokes with each set. The shotgun features a coin-finished receiver accented with gold grouse and pheasant engravings, paired with an action using a single selective inertial trigger, with the barrel selector conveniently located on the trigger shoe. The safety automatically resets, reinforcing its field-oriented design. Altogether, this Alcione LF represents a well-appointed, flexible, and traditionally styled Italian over/under with the added appeal of true multi-gauge capability.
