Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded bladed fixed to the top of the slide extension. The rear sight is a “V” notch leaf dovetailed into the top of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered Type 1 horn panels. The grips have some minor surface cracking and open grain-lines. There are some light scratches and nicks. The checkering is generally well defined. Overall, the grips rate in Good-plus condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Some remaining finish is Original, surfaces show treatment with cold blue. Numbered parts are matching.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling. There is some scattered light erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates about 8 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 20% of its metal finish. The lanyard ring is missing from the frame. The surfaces show treatment with cold blue. There is scattered wear going to a light patina with edges worn to white. There is infrequent minor surface erosion and a few light nicks and scratches. The action shows operational wear. The screw head is tool marked with a strong slot. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Dutch contract M25 No. 2 Model 1922 from Fabrique Nationale chambered in 9mm short. This contract ran from 1926 to 1940 and over 50,000 pistols were manufactured and shipped during that time. This example was manufactured in the 1930’s. Retaining about 20% original finish and showing treatment with cold blue, this pistol is in Good condition and would make a terrific addition to a collection of early military automatic pistols.
