Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, forend with skip line checkering and tacks, and a serrated metal buttplate. The buttplate has heavy oxidation. The furniture shows pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches throughout. The LOP measures 14.25" from the front trigger, and 13.25" from the rear trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are multiple cracks in the buttstock. The furniture rates in Poor condition.

Bore Condition: The bores have turned to patina and show stubborn fouling. There is light pitting and erosion scattered throughout the bores. In this writer's opinion, the bores rate 6/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 5% of its original metal finish. The finish extensive finish loss, patina throughout, oxidation spots, and other handling marks. The screw heads show heavy tooling and may not be turnable. The markings are faded and some may be incomplete. The trigger guard is a homemade replacement. Overall, this shotgun rates in Poor condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, though probably shouldn't be fired due to the firearms poor condition. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Sold under the Eclipse Gun Co. trade name, these side-by-side shotguns were representative of the affordable American sporting arms marketed during the early 20th century. External hammer double guns remained popular with hunters and farmers for their simplicity, durability, and ease of maintenance, serving as dependable field guns for generations of American sportsmen.
Chambered for 12 Gauge with 28 inch barrels, this break-action shotgun features a practical field choke combination. The right barrel measures Improved Cylinder, while the left barrel measures Modified, making it suitable for upland hunting and general sporting use. In this writer's opinion, the bores rate 6 out of 10, showing moderate to heavy wear consistent with age and use. The action functions correctly; however, due to the shotgun's overall condition, it is recommended that it be considered a collectible or restoration project rather than a shooter until thoroughly inspected by a qualified gunsmith.
