This set of Crockett spurs represents the work of one of the most recognized American makers of Western riding equipment. Marked “CROCKETT” on the outside of the heel band beneath the button, these spurs are attributed to Oscar Crockett’s firm, which originated in Kansas City before later expanding operations to Lenexa, Kansas and ultimately Boulder, Colorado. By the mid-20th century, Crockett Bit & Spur Company had grown into one of the largest producers of bits and spurs in the country, known for combining functional design with decorative Western styling.

The spurs feature classic steel construction with silver accents, including engraved conchos and decorative elements that reflect traditional cowboy aesthetics. The buckles are made by North & Judd. The heel bands are fitted with leather straps, themselves decorated with floral tooling. The rowels are multi-point star types, typical of working and show spurs alike, and remain intact. The overall form balances utility with visual appeal, making them suitable for both display and period-correct use.

Condition shows honest wear consistent with age and use. The steel surfaces exhibit patina, light oxidation, and handling marks, while the leather straps show wear, creasing, and some age-related dryness but remain intact.
