Sights / Optics: The front sights are blades fixed to the barrels. The rear sights are square notches in the top straps.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black hard rubber with "US" in oval at their tops. Both sets of grips are numbered to their revolver, both serial and assembly numbers. Neither set of grips have notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Matte Blue

Finish Originality: Original, numbers match. Interestingly, K146's assembly number is 1066 while K147's is 1065.

Bore Condition: Both bores are mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in either bore, just a little stubborn fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bores rate 9+ out of 10.

Overall Condition: Each revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. Both revolvers have some light wear at leading edges, slightly more notable on K146, and each has minor operational wear, slightly more notable on the cylinder of K147. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, these revolvers are in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The cylinders have removable bushings. The firing pins are conical and there is no window in the loading gates at the hinge, indicative of US-made parts. We did not fire these revolvers. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Each revolver revolver comes in a two-piece cardboard box with a cardboard sleeve. Each sleeve has the serial number hand-written. Also included are brown cloth USFA pouches, manuals and warranty cards.

Our Assessment: Colt’s Model 1873, the Single Action Army, is the “gun that won the west”, perhaps the most iconic handgun of all time. For nearly 150 years, the gun has been produced in a variety of configurations, finishes and calibers. This revolver is the absolute closest to a Colt you can get without a pony on the side. The USFA Rodeo has a matte blue finish, but otherwise is the most exacting copy of the SAA you could find. Unfortunately, the company has gone under and no longer produces these wonderful revolvers. This consecutive pair is in Excellent condition and comes with just about everything they did brand new. The revolvers have 4 3/4" barrels and are chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. In Excellent condition, the revolvers appear to have seen limited use, but likely have more time in than out of their included original boxes. These revolvers will make a great addition to any collection and ought to be a blast to shoot. Please see our photos and good luck!
