Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black plastic with the Rampant Colt logo at the top. The grips have a few scattered light nicks and scuffs. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good condition.
Type of Finish: "Duotone"- Blue, Alloy in the white.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright, the rifling is sharp. There is infrequent, faint erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. The steel parts have thinning finish at most edges. There is finish wear on the left of the barrel at the muzzle-end. There is some scattered minor wear around the outside of the cylinder. The alloy frame and grip frame have some stubborn residue at corners. There is minor oxidation on the side faces of the hammer. There are scattered light nicks and small scratches. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Frontier Scout is a scaled down version of its predecessor, the Single Action Army. Made by Colt and true to the original design, this one was made in 1958, the second year that the Scout was offered. As one of the earliest Scouts, it is an F-series, having a Duotone finish with blued steel barrel and cylinder while the lightweight alloy frame and grip frame were left in the white. This is a great find for the Colt collector who wishes to fill out their collection. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding!
