Markings:
The left side of the slide is marked “COMBAT COMMANDER COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER .45” with the Rampant Colt logo. The right side of the slide is marked “COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL.” The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and the serial number “80BS18345”. The right side of the frame, behind the grip panel, bears the engraved signature of renowned master engraver DW HARRIS. The slide, frame, and controls feature detailed and extensive scroll engraving throughout.

Sights / Optics:
The front sight is a blade with a serrated ramp fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch combat sight dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition:
The grips are genuine mother-of-pearl panels with gold Colt medallions inset into each panel. A loss is missing from the right grip panel; Otherwise, they show minimal handling wear and remain free of chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Nickel (Custom Engraved)

Finish Originality: Original to engraving by DW Harris.

Bore Condition:
The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition:
This pistol retains approximately 99% of its nickel steel finish, enhanced by masterful scroll engraving by renowned engraver David Wade Harris. There are only minimal handling marks and faint operational wear. Screw heads are sharp, and all factory markings and engraver's signature remain clear. Overall, the pistol rates in Excellent condition as custom engraved.

Mechanics:
The action functions correctly. Slide-to-frame fit is tight with no notable play, and the trigger breaks crisply. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

This Combat Commander features expertly rendered scrollwork by Harris, complemented by elegant mother-of-pearl grips accented with gold Colt medallions.
