Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade with a serrated face pinned into a base banded around the barrel. The rear sight has been removed and a dovetail blank has been inserted. A vintage Belding & Mull scope and scope base are mounted atop the barrel and receiver. The post reticle is a bit foggy, but the scope otherwise rates in Good condition.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is one piece wood with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered schnabel forend, and a ventilated synthetic Pachmayr buttpad. The buttpad has light handling wear. The furniture shows pressure dings and surface scratches. The LOP measures 13.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There is a crack running from the lower right side of the buttstock. The furniture rates in Good to Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi bright and the rifling is fairly well defined with stubborn fouling. There is light erosion throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its current finish. The finish shows light edge wear, thinning on the receiver, small oxidations spots, and some scratches. The screw heads are lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. The bolt is not the correct profile, it appears to have broken off and been rewelded at some point. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Buffalo Newton Rifle Co. Model 1924 was manufactured between 1924 and 1926 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Buffalo Newton Rifle Company, the Model 1924 continued Charles Newton's vision of producing high-velocity sporting rifles chambered for his innovative proprietary cartridges. Although Newton's companies experienced financial difficulties, his advanced rifle and cartridge designs were decades ahead of their time and significantly influenced later sporting rifle development. Surviving Newton rifles remain highly sought after by collectors due to their limited production and historical importance.
Chambered in .30 Newton with a 24 inch barrel, this rifle is equipped with a vintage Belding & Mull scope and period scope base mounted to the barrel and receiver, providing an attractive period-correct optical setup. The barrel was rebored and remarked from a .256 Newton Model 1916 barrel, a modification that was very likely performed at the Buffalo factory using leftover inventory from the earlier Newton Arms Company. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8 out of 10, indicating solid internal condition with good rifling. The action functions correctly.
