Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated, ramped blade integral to the barrel rib. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the topstrap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut magna style panels. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few minor scuffs and light handling marks. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson .22/32 Kit Gun, introduced in 1935, is a classic example of American firearm craftsmanship, designed for small game hunting, target shooting, and as a compact trail gun. Built on the I-Frame, this double-action/single-action revolver was a lightweight and portable option for outdoorsmen, earning its reputation as the perfect “kit gun”—small enough to be packed in a backpack or tackle box, yet reliable enough for field use. The Model 650 is an updated version of this design, made in the slightly larger J-frame and chambered for the more powerful .22 Magnum cartridge. With its corrosion-resistant stainless steel finish and rugged fixed sights, this is a robust little revolver that still packs quite a punch for a rimfire gun.
