An exceptionally scarce and highly desirable early 20th-century wooden ammunition shipping crate from the storied Robin Hood Ammunition Company of Swanton, Vermont. This rugged box was originally manufactured to transport bulk quantities of "Loaded Shotgun Shells" and features the company’s iconic central graphic stamp: a stylized archer flanked by decorative scrollwork, proudly proclaiming their product loaded with "High Grade Sporting Powder."

The side panels are prominently stenciled in deep, crisp black ink reading "SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION" and "ROBIN HOOD AMMUNITION Co. / SWANTON, VT." Highly sought after by militaria, hunting, and advertising enthusiasts, Robin Hood items are notoriously difficult to find due to the firm's short-lived standalone existence before being absorbed by Remington-UMC in 1915 during the escalation of WWI.

Very Good antique condition overall, showcasing excellent, rich wood coloration. The original factory stenciling and central graphics remain exceptionally bold, dark, and legible. The wood exhibits a handsome, aged patina with minor scuffs, oxidation on the native fasteners, and typical surface wear consistent with age and practical field use. Shows sturdy corner finger-joints with light, expected wood grain checking. Missing the lid, hinges and hasp. Measures 15” x 9.5” x 8.75”
