Sights / Optics: The front sight is a half-round blade that is integral to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat-topped "U" notch dovetailed into the top of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece checkered walnut with smooth borders that enclose the backstrap. The grip shows even wear with scattered small nicks, scratches, and a couple of more notable dings. The checkering shows wear, but is generally well defined. There are a few small losses around the edges. The grip is in about Very Good overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original, numbered parts are matching.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling. There is scattered light erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 6 or 7 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 70% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. There is wear at the leading edges of the barrel and slide. The grip areas show handling wear. There is some other scattered more minor wear. There is some scattered light surface oxidation, most notable in the grip areas. There are a few light nicks and small scratches. The action shows operational wear. The grip screws are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Mauser began working on a locked-breech semi-automatic pistol, the M1907, and several patents were filed, but the pistol was never produced. The design was changed to a blowback design and released in 6.35mm (.25 ACP) in 1910. A slightly larger version of the same pistol was made in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) as the Model 1914. There are several variations due to changes such as lettering or slide serrations to name just a few, becoming the 1910/14, 1910/34, and 1934 models. The Model 10/14/34 pistols were made from 1910 until 1941, with close to a million pistols manufactured.

This example was produced just before or during WWII and has a waffenamt, indicating purchase by the German Army. The pistol retains matching numbered parts, a decent bore and strong mechanics. It will make a nice addition to a collection of early pocket automatics or WWII sidearms. Please see our photos and good luck!
