Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a brass bead fixed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is serrated for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are black synthetic with a ribbed slide handle, textured pistol grip stock, straight comb, and ventilated black rubber Winchester recoil pad. There is a sling stud in the belly with another mounted to the front of the magazine cap. The stocks have some scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches, mostly in the buttstock. The buttstock has minor play to the receiver with odd wear and a couple of very short cracks at the front edges. The LOP measures 13 3/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The pad has light wear. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Bright Stainless Steel & Black Alloy Receiver

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright. There is a spot of minor erosion near the muzzle and some minor, but stubborn fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: The shotgun retains about 94% of its finish. There are some light nicks, scuffs and scratches, mostly in the receiver. The action shows light operational wear. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1200 was introduced in 1964 as a less expensive alternative to the Model 12 which could be price competitive with the Remington 870 which had been introduced in 1951. The Model 1300 would follow, chambered for 3" magnum shells. This is a Stainless Marine Model 1300 with an 18 1/2" barrel and a Fixed Cylinder Bore. It retains the great majority of its original finish which is just as eye-catching as it is durable. This is an excellent firearm to add to a Winchester collection that doesn't have a 1300 yet and would make just as fine a security shotgun as it did the day it left the factory.
