Sights / Optics: The front sight is a gold beaded blade with a serrated rear face dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a U-notch semi-buckhorn elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The riser has been removed. The tang is drilled, tapped, and installed with a Marble Arms tang sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece Grade 4 Deluxe hand selected full checkered American walnut with high gloss, straight grip, straight comb, case hardened nosecap, and case hardened steel shotgun-style checkered buttplate. The checkering is crisp with sharp peaks. There is little to no handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures about 13 3/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue & Color Case

Finish Originality: Original. Ordered in the white by Navy Arms, then engraved and finished.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The bluing and case color are very strong and deep. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are very clear and prominent. There is little to no operation wear detectable whatsoever on this rifle. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly and is very tight. We did not fire this gun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1873 earned its place in frontier legend as “The Gun That Won the West,” and the modern Miroku manufactured examples represent some of the finest renditions ever produced of that iconic toggle link lever action. This 2014 One of One Thousand Deluxe Grade 4 rifle revives the 19th century tradition of factory embellished 1873s, when specially selected, high accuracy rifles were set aside and offered at a premium. Built with a 24 1/4 inch octagonal barrel, rich factory engraving, and vivid blue and case colored finish, this rifle carries the visual authority of the original while benefitting from the precision machining and fit for which Miroku is renowned. The Grade 4 Deluxe American walnut, high gloss and sharply checkered, pairs beautifully with the case hardened nosecap and shotgun style buttplate, giving the rifle a refined yet unmistakably Western profile.

Chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special, cartridges that bridge Old West revolver heritage with modern sporting versatility, this rifle offers both historical resonance and practical shootability. The bore is bright with sharp, deep rifling rating 10 out of 10, and the rifle retains approximately 99 percent of its original finish with strong case color, crisp screw heads, and clear markings throughout. The action is tight and functions correctly, and the Marble Arms tang sight complements the traditional semi buckhorn rear and gold beaded front for a classic sight picture. As a limited One of One Thousand example produced in 2014, this rifle blends presentation grade aesthetics with legendary design in a way that speaks directly to Winchester’s most celebrated era.
