These knives were popular among servicemen who privately purchased them for field use, valued for their robust construction and formidable presence.

The blade is marked "WESTERN / BOULDER COLO. / PAT'D." and presents with a strong, clean edge and well-defined clip point. The finish shows light handling and honest wear, with marks that complement the blade's original character. The fuller is well executed and adds to the knife's classic fighting profile. The stacked leather washer handle remains tight and intact, showing typical age with a rich, even tone. The guard shows light wear and slight play consistent with carry and use.

The included leather sheath is a period-correct example featuring double-stitched construction with riveted reinforcement along the edge. The leather shows handling wear, scuffs, and areas of discoloration, with a functional retention strap and snap still present. Some of the stitching towards the end has broken free. Overall, this is a Very Good example of a classic Western WWII-era fighting knife, offering strong visual appeal and historical character.
