Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its finish. The only notable losses are edge wear located mainly near the muzzle. There is only light operational wear. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Fine Plus condition.

Our Assessment: This West German SIG Sauer P226 was manufactured in 1988 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by SIG Sauer in West Germany, the P226 is one of the most respected double-action/single-action service pistols ever developed. Introduced in the early 1980s, the P226 gained worldwide recognition during the U.S. military handgun trials and went on to serve with military and law enforcement agencies across the globe. Early West German examples are especially sought after for their folded carbon steel slides, exceptional machining, and renowned build quality.
Chambered in 9mm Luger with a 4.4 inch barrel, the P226 is celebrated for its outstanding ergonomics, excellent accuracy, and legendary reliability.
