Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece tenite with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a serrated synthetic buttplate. The buttplate shows light scuffs. The furniture shows light scratches scattered throughout. The LOP measures 13.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There is a small impact crack on the left side of the forend near the receiver. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The finish shows light scratches and edge wear. The trigger guard has lost much of it's finish. The pins are unmarred and remain fully functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this shotgun rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Sold through Montgomery Ward under the Western Field trade name, these shotguns were produced by established American manufacturers and marketed as affordable, dependable sporting arms. The simple single-shot design made them popular among hunters and rural sportsmen for generations.
Chambered for 16 Gauge 2.75 inch shells with a 28 inch barrel and Improved Modified choke, this shotgun reflects the classic upland hunting configuration of the postwar era. The 16 Gauge was once one of America's most popular hunting gauges, offering a balance between the lighter recoil of the 20 Gauge and the payload capacity of the 12 Gauge. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly.
