Good Condition. Moderate fraying to the middle back campaign hat cord. A split to the middle back leather sweatband where it appears to have been purposely made slightly larger. Various maker, retailer, and studio inventory markings around the inside. Incredible movie prop cowboy hat stenciled in black along the interior back with "BATJAC", John Wayne's studio that produced many of his iconic Western movies. The high front crown, contrived dark staining at front, and buff colored campaign hat cord match the hats worn by Wayne and his stunt doubles in 1972's "The Cowboys" and 1973's "The Train Robbers". Approximately a Size 7 1/8. Though a tad smaller than hats known to be worn by "the Duke", 3X beaver felt hats are prone to shink over time due to moisture from sweat, rain, or heat, and this hat certainly appears to have experienced all three.
