The Hermann H. Heiser Saddlery Co. of Denver, Colorado was established in 1874 during the height of the Old West, and for the next 80 years, they were world renowned for producing top of the line leather saddles, pistol holsters, and gun belts. This Vintage 1950s H.H. Heiser #510 Colt 7.5" SAA Basket Weave Leather Pistol Holster & Gun Belt Rig is in Very Good Condition, with some light flattening to the holster, making any SAA revolver a tight fit, some light crazing along the left side of the holster, some light scuffing at the lower left side of the holster, some light scattered scratching and darkening throughout, and with some light overall drying, stiffening, and age wear evident. Most interestingly, the holster is crafted in the classic “Mexican double loop” design, with a folded over skirt that also acts as the belt slide, bears incredible hand carved basket weave tooling all along the front, complemented by “Spanish fan” and “sea shell” border tooling, and is stamped at the bottom front skirt (under the toe) with the classic oval "saddler" style logo of its maker, the famous "H.H. HEISER / MAKER / DENVER, COLO.", along with the model number, "510". The holster is constructed of tough, rigid, yet fairly supple brown saddle leather, measures 4“ wide across the top opening, and 11“ long down the straight side, making it ideal for a Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army revolver with a 7.5” barrel, and features a purpose made open toe. The belt too is constructed of tough, rigid, yet fairly supple brown saddle leather, bears incredible hand carved basket weave tooling throughout, complemented by “Spanish fan” and “sea shell” border tooling, and is stamped at the left front with the matching oval "saddler" style logo of its maker, the famous "H.H. HEISER / MAKER / DENVER, COLO.", along with the numbers “71” and “36” (it’s also marked “45” at the upper left side). The belt sports 30 sewn leather shell loops for .44 WCF/.45 LC ammo along the left side and back, measures 44 3/4" long overall x 2 1/2" wide, and carries a fully functional metal front buckle closure. The set is a beautiful example of a rare, original Vintage 1950s H.H. Heiser #510 Colt 7.5" SAA Basket Weave Leather Pistol Holster & Gun Belt Rig.
