WWII USMC Village Blacksmith Corpsman Bolo Knife w/ Boyt 1942 Sheath – In Very Good Condition. This is a fantastic example of a WWII United States Marine Corps Medical Corpsman Bolo Knife, manufactured by Village Blacksmith, paired with its original Boyt 1942 leather sheath. These heavy-duty knives were issued to USMC medical personnel and corpsmen during World War II, specifically designed to aid in clearing brush for makeshift field hospitals and evacuating wounded under combat conditions. Their rugged build and wide, heavy blade also made them a practical utility tool in the Pacific Theater’s dense jungle environments.

This particular bolo is in Very Good Condition. The blade is bright and clean, likely polished at some point, and remains sharp with no nicks or damage to the edge. The left side of the blade is clearly marked: “U.S.M.C. VILLAGE BLACKSMITH.” The wood handle scales are solid, free of cracks, and securely attached with undamaged brass rivets. The blade ridge has some dents near the tip, and blade has some scratches and scuffs with a deep scratch on the right side of blade near tip.

The original Boyt-marked leather sheath is in good condition, stamped “U.S. BOYT 42” on the front. It shows some verdigris on the brass hardware and a few minor dents to the leather from age and service, but the stitching remains tight and intact, making this a complete and collectible example.
