Good Condition. Moderate cleaning, scratching, pitting, and patina to the blade. Moderate loosening to the ferrule. Missing the bottom two strands of wire handle wrapping. Heavy tearing and cracking to the leather covering of the wood grip. Some denting to the middle front and lower back scabbard. The sword remains difficult to draw from the scabbard. Features a 34 1/8" slightly upswept bright quillback blade, and classic three branch brass guard. Carries "United States" beautifully engraved along the lower left side of the blade, and its maker and date, "N.P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield / 1836", engraved at the reverse ricasso. "J.M." inspector stamps for Justin Murphy throughout.
