Sights/ Optics: There is a semi-circle blade set in a v-notch groove that runs the length of the rib and top strap. The rear sight is a u-notch in the barrel latch.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip panels are two-piece walnut with ambidextrous thumb rests. There is little to handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip panels are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: The revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks but the pistol lacks any notable defects There is a thin intermittent turn line on the cylinder. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are unmarred and serviceable. Overall, the revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single action trigger is crisp. The cylinder locks with only barely perceptible play on each chamber. The barrel locks with no play on the frame. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson Schofield was one of the most distinctive American martial revolvers of the 19th century, developed from S&W’s top-break single-action design and refined through Major George W. Schofield’s improvements for cavalry use. Its hinged-frame action and automatic extractor made it faster to unload and reload than many solid-frame revolvers of the period, giving it real practical appeal alongside its unmistakable Old West profile. This Uberti-made, Stoeger-imported Second Model Schofield recreates that classic pattern with modern steels and chambering in .45 Colt, pairing a 7" barrel, top-break action, auto-ejecting 6-shot cylinder, blued finish, case-colored frame components, and two-piece walnut grips with thumb rests.
This 2008-production example is in Excellent condition, retaining about 99% of its original metal finish with only light handling marks and a thin intermittent cylinder turn line. The markings remain clear, the screw heads are unmarred and serviceable, and the walnut grip panels are excellent with no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10, and the mechanics are strong, with a crisp single-action trigger, and a tight barrel-to-frame lockup. Complete with its serial-matched factory box and paperwork, including the user manual, this is a very attractive Schofield reproduction for the Uberti collector, Old West enthusiast, or shooter looking for a well-made .45 Colt top-break revolver with excellent condition and strong historical character.
