Sights/Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch at the rear of a groove in the top strap. 

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece smooth wood. The grips show no wear. There are no chips or cracks. This furniture rates in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are no notable marks other than some of the case coloring flaking off the top strap. There is a very faint turn line starting on the cylinder. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This revolver presents in Fine Plus overall condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original finish. The metal surfaces are clean and evenly preserved with minimal handling evidence, and the revolver retains matching numbered parts, an important point of completeness and quality. The long 7.5" barrel gives the revolver the classic cavalry length profile and excellent balance associated with traditional 1873 pattern single actions.

Mechanically, the revolver is excellent. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10 with bright steel and sharp rifling, indicating light use. The action functions correctly with smooth hammer travel, proper cylinder indexing, and solid lockup. The inclusion of both the .45 Colt and .45 Auto cylinders adds versatility, allowing the revolver to be used with two common cartridges while preserving the traditional single action operating characteristics.

Historically, the Cattleman series reflects Uberti's commitment to producing faithful reproductions of the iconic 1873 single action revolver using modern manufacturing standards.
