Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation semi-buckhorn dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a smooth straight wrist grip, straight comb, checkered forend, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate has no visible wear. The furniture shows some dings, nicks, and scratches (particularly on the forend). There is a crack running from the lower tang and two more running from the upper tang. The LOP measures 13.25" from the face of the trigger to the butt. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This firearms stainless finish rates at 98%. The finish shows only some light scratches and normal operational marks. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Taurus C45 Thunderbolt is a modern slide-action rifle chambered in .45 Colt. Produced by Taurus, the Thunderbolt is a reproduction of the classic Colt Lightning rifle, one of the few pump-action sporting rifles of the late 19th century. The modern Thunderbolt retains the fast-handling characteristics and distinctive appearance of the original while utilizing contemporary manufacturing methods and materials.

Chambered in .45 Colt with a 26 inch barrel and a 14-round tubular magazine, this rifle is well suited for cowboy action shooting, recreational use, and hunting at moderate ranges. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.

The furniture rates in Very Good condition with light handling wear consistent with careful use. The stainless finish rates at approximately 98%, presenting a very clean overall appearance. Overall, this firearm rates in Fine condition and stands as an attractive stainless Taurus Thunderbolt that combines Old West styling with the fast operation of a pump-action rifle.
