Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into a raised base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is an earlier folding ladder sight adjustable out to 1750 meters for use with black powder cartridges.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The refinished furniture is one piece wood with a straight wrist grip, straight comb, and two sling swivels. The smooth metal buttplate shows scattered oxidation and pitting. The upper handguard is missing from the rifle. The wood shows pressure dings, nicks, and scratches. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is grey and the rifling is worn. There is mild erosion and pitting in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its metal finish. The finish on the buttplate is almost completely gone. The finish on the rest of the rifle shows moderate handling and operational wear. It shows freckling, surface oxidation, and other blemishes expected from a rifle of this age. The screw heads range from unmarred to lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
