Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated, ramped blade integral to a solid rib. The ramp is painted white. The rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation, screwed to the top-strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut Magna stocks with silver-colored S&W medallions at their tops. The interior of the right panel has "131472" stamped. The grips have light handling wear. There is a cluster of nicks on the bottom of the left panel. The left panel has a tiny loss at the top corner. There are a few other scattered light marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no cracks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9+/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its finish. The balance is mostly in minor operational wear, including a thin turn-line on the cylinder. There are a few other scattered small marks and infrequent edge-thinning. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This is a S&W Model 34-1 Model of 1953 .22 Kit Gun with a 2” barrel and blued finish. The revolver has adjustable target sights and a pinned barrel (the barrel pin was deleted on this model in 1982). The revolver is in about Fine condition with about 96% of its original metal finish remaining. The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling, no erosion and just a little stubborn fouling. With its adjustable sights and 2" barrel, it will be great for plinking and varmint control while still being compact and easy to carry. That said, its high condition and original grips will surely be of interest to interest the Smith collectors, too. Please see our photos and good luck!
