Sights / Optics: The front sight is a round blade pinned to the top of the rib. The rear sight is a U-notch in a rise in the barrel latch.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two piece checkered hard rubber panels with S&W logos molded at their tops. There are a few minor compression marks. The monogram is crisp. The checkering is defined. The inside of the grips around the screw holes are cracked is several spots. The cracks do not travel through to exterior of the grips. Overall, the grips rate in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Nickel

Finish Originality: Refinished. All the serialized parts match. The grips do not match.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is very minor oxidation corrosion in the bore but no notable erosion. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 8/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains 99% of its nickel finish.There is light operational wear post refinish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. The screw heads are tooled with serviceable slots. There is faint oxidation. There is a thin crisp turn line. The markings are clear save for the S&W monogram which is partially visible. Overall, revolver rates at about Excellent condition as refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with some very light side-to-side play. The ejector functions properly. We did not fire these handguns. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson .32 Safety Hammerless 2nd Model, often nicknamed the Lemon Squeezer, was produced during the early twentieth century as a discreet, easily carried personal defense revolver. Manufactured between 1902 and 1909, this top break, double action only five shot revolver reflects a period when compact pocket arms were in high demand for urban carry. Chambered in .32 S&W, a cartridge introduced in 1878 and widely adopted for its mild recoil and suitability in small frame revolvers, the Safety Hammerless line became one of Smith & Wesson’s most recognizable concealed hammer designs of the era.

This example has been refinished in nickel and now retains approximately 99% of that finish, with light operational wear and a thin, faint turn line. All serialized parts match save for the grips. The hard rubber grips remain in Good condition with sharp checkering and a crisp monogram. The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling and only minor oxidation, rating 8 out of 10. Markings are clear, the action functions correctly with only light side to side cylinder play, and the ejector operates properly. Overall, this is a strong, well presented example of a classic early twentieth century Smith & Wesson pocket revolver.
