Markings: The tang is marked "5460B".The top of the barrel is marked "Shiloh-Sharps Model 1874" and "CALIBRE 50". The left side of the receiver is marked "SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO. BIG TIMBER, MONTANA."
Barrel Length: 30" Nominal "14lb" Octagon barrel. Total weight 14 lbs 7 oz.
Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a globe front sight with circle insert dovetailed to the barrel. This rifle has an MVA Vernier style sight with 28 MOA staff, windage adjustment and "small" eye disc. The barrel is cut with a rear dovetail that is currently empty.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two piece smooth semi-fancy walnut. The buttstock is a straight hand, with long lower tang, straight comb, and has a case color checkered metal butt plate. The handguard features a traditional pewter tipped smooth forend. The LOP measures 14.25? from the front trigger to the back of the butt plate. The tip shows some surface level lines common with this finish. The wood shows a few very small compressions. Each side of the wrist has one small mark. There are no chips or cracks. The comb has one very faint characteristic mark from the eye disc. The butt plate shows no wear. The Furniture rates in Excellent-Excellent+ overall condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel is blued and the receiver, lever, tang and hammer and butt plate are case color.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. If this rifle was fired outside of factory testing it was very little. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel shows a few very small scattered marks. The lower tang has a very small mark from the lever. The screw heads are undamaged and sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Fine condition, please see mechanics.
Mechanics: This rifle has double set triggers. The front trigger is functioning correctly however the set trigger is not functioning and will need to be repaired. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
