Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a U-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip is one-piece checkered walnut. The grip shows even moderate handling wear with discoloration toward the top of the backstrap. There is a tiny loss at the bottom-front corner on the right. The checkering shows some wear, but is generally well defined. There are no cracks. Overall, the grip is in Good-plus condition.
Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original, numbers match.
Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling. There is scattered minor erosion and stubborn fouling in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7/10.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. There is a little finish wear at the front and rear edges of the slide and around the ejection port. There are a few small marks and a few spots of minor surface erosion. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Very Good-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: A single 8-round magazine is included.
Our Assessment: Mauser began working on a locked-breech semi-automatic pistol, the M1907, and several patents were filed, but the pistol was never produced. The design was changed to a blowback design and released in 6.35mm in 1910. A slightly larger version of the same pistol was made in 7.65mm as the Model 1914. There are several variations due to changes such as lettering or slide serrations to name just a few, becoming the 1910/14, 1910/34, and 1934 models. The Model 10/14/34 pistols were made from 1910 until 1941, with close to a million pistols manufactured.
This is a scarce example, one of approximately 8,000 produced for the German Army in 1940 and 1941. Production of the model ceased when the double-action Model HSc was deemed more desirable. The pistol has proper e/655 waffenamt and acceptance markings as well as matching serial numbers on the slide, frame, barrel and sideplate.
