Sights/Optics: The front sight is a metal bead fixed atop the rib, there is a mid-bead part way down the rib.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a serrated synthetic buttplate. The buttplate shows light handling wear. The furniture shows light scuffs and scratches. The LOP measures 13.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with visible wear towards the muzzle. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its original metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, light scratches, and operational marks. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this shotgun rates in Fair to Good condition. It would rate much higher if not for the non-firing left barrel.
Mechanics: Please note that the left barrel will not fire. It is unclear what the internal issue is. The action otherwise functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Savage Fox Model BSE-C was manufactured in 1968 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic shotgun. Savage Arms produced the various Fox Model B and BSE iterations from 1940 until 1988. The "B" stands for Model B, the "SE" for selective ejectors, and the "C" designates the deluxe grade with its premium checkering and wood appointments. Chambered in the increasingly desirable .410 Bore, these shotguns remain popular for upland hunting and recreational shooting due to their light weight and classic double gun styling.
Chambered for .410 Bore 3 inch shells with 26 inch barrels, this break action side-by-side is well suited for small game and upland bird hunting. In this writer's opinion, the bores rate 9 out of 10, indicating strong internal condition. It should be noted that the left barrel will not fire, leaving the shotgun with only one functional barrel.
The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition with light handling wear and attractive presentation. This shotgun retains approximately 90% of its original metal finish, presenting a clean overall appearance. Overall, this shotgun rates in Fair to Good condition due to the missing rear trigger.
