Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece strikingly handsome Cocobolo wood grip panels with red Ruger medallions. There are no notable signs of wear on the grips. There are no chips and cracks. Overall the grips rate in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 1x 6 round fluted cylinder for .22LR. 1x 6 round smooth cylinder for .22 Win. Magnum. Both cylinders are in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued with special gold-enhanced 50th Anniversary rollmark on top of the barrel.
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is a faint, nearly non-existent turn line on the .22 LR cylinder. The magnum cylinder has no turn line. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Single-Six in 1953 at a time when traditional single-action revolvers had largely disappeared from major manufacturers’ catalogs, giving shooters a scaled-down, economical .22-caliber sixgun built around the styling of the classic American single action. For the model’s 50th anniversary in 2003, Ruger produced this special New Model Single-Six Convertible for that year only. Factory specifications included a 4 5/8" barrel, blued steel Vaquero-style fixed-sight frame, Cocobolo grip panels with red Ruger medallions, both .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders, a gold-enhanced 50th Anniversary barrel rollmark, and a distinctive red presentation-style plastic case.
This example remains in outstanding condition, retaining about 99% of its original blued finish with only a nearly imperceptible turn line on the .22 LR cylinder, while the .22 Magnum cylinder appears essentially unused. The Cocobolo grips remain in Excellent condition, and the bright, sharply rifled bore rates 10/10. The action functions correctly, and the revolver is particularly complete with both cylinders, its distinctive red 50th Anniversary case, factory-fired cartridge envelope, owner's manual, and gun lock. With its one-year-only commemorative configuration, convertible chambering, exceptional condition, and unusually complete factory package, this is an especially attractive example for the Ruger collector seeking one of the better commemorative Single-Six variants.
