Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated ramped base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable u-notch sight assembly screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with capped pistol grip, fluted monte-carlo comb with cheek piece, black rubber Remington buttpad with skip-line checkering, ebony tipped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 3/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are scattered handling marks and compressions. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer's opinion it rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is some thinning on the sight hood. There are a couple small handling marks with little to no operational wear. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Remington Model 700 BDL, manufactured in 1976, represents the height of Remington’s classic magnum era, when the Model 700 had become a benchmark for American bolt action sporting rifles. Chambered in .264 Winchester Magnum and fitted with a 24 inch barrel, this rifle reflects the mid 20th century pursuit of high velocity, flat shooting performance paired with refined factory presentation. The deluxe BDL configuration, with its Monte Carlo stock, cheekpiece, ebony accents, and hinged floorplate, captures the premium trim level that defined Remington’s flagship sporting rifles of the period.

Condition remains excellent throughout, with approximately 98 percent of the original blue finish retained and only minor handling marks present. The walnut stock shows clean lines with no structural issues, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. Factory iron sights remain intact, markings are clear, screws are sharp, and the action and safety function correctly with a crisp trigger. Overall, this rifle stands as a high quality, well preserved example of a 1970s Model 700 BDL in a classic Winchester magnum chambering.
