Action Type: Top break, over under with single selective mechanical trigger, ejectors and manual safety. The safety does not automatically reset.

Markings: Forend: "SK990". Receiver: "ONE OF 1000", "Remington 3200 SK.0990", and "B S T". Barrel Set: "*12 GA.23/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS SKEET SKEET", "SK990", "REMINGTON ARMS CO.INC.ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. PATENT PENDING", and "25EZ". The barrels also have the usual Remington proofs. Butt pad: "REMINGTON PAD MADE IN U.S.A. BY PACHMAYR".

Barrel Length: 26" nominal, measures out to 25 3/8ths inches.

Choke: Fixed Skeet over Skeet.

Sights / Optics: There is a large white bead affixed to the front of the finely checkered rib. There is also a smaller silver mid bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece checkered high grade walnut set with a wide full finger shelf forend and a capped semi pistol grip stock with fluted straight comb and rubber butt pad. The LOP is 14". The drop at comb is 1.5" and the drop at heel is 2". The cast is neutral. The shotgun weighs 8lbs 9oz. The forend shows a small crazing line on the lower right side rear edge. The left side of the stock flute shows two small spots of discoloration in the gloss finish. There are no chips or cracks. There are some scattered very minor surface level lines and small compressions in the finish. The butt pad is pliable showing only minor rub wear. Overall the furniture set is in Fine+ condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The smooth bores are mirror bright and show no pitting or erosion. There is no visible plastic fouling and only some very minor lines from use. In this writer's opinion the bores rate 9.75/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is a small rub mark with finish loss on the rear right of the forend iron. The receiver shows a small ding on the leading bottom edge, and some rub wear inside the action. The barrels show some browning from age. The ejectors show some surface rust forming and some finish loss. The bottom barrel shows some rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall this shotgun is in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel to receiver fit shows zero play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 3200 was Remington’s ambitious entry into the high-end competition over/under market during the 1970s, designed to rival established European guns. Introduced in 1973, the 3200 featured a robust, competition-oriented action and was offered in several specialized configurations. Among the rarest are the limited “One of 1000” Skeet models and the equally limited run of 1,000 Trap models, produced as premium offerings to showcase Remington’s craftsmanship and elevate the platform’s prestige.

This example is a One of 1000 Skeet Model manufactured in 1975, chambered in 12 gauge with 26" barrels, and is individually numbered 990 of the 1,000 produced. The shotgun features exceptionally beautiful walnut furniture with rich grain and excellent figure, paired with a finely engraved receiver prominently marked “ONE OF 1000,” a detail that adds both elegance and collector significance. With its limited production, classic skeet configuration, and upscale presentation, this Model 3200 stands as one of the most desirable and visually striking American-made competition shotguns of its era.
