Rare 1920s Winchester Repeating Arms Co. "Pillow Style" Leather Baseball Catcher's Mitt

Offered is a highly collectible and remarkably intact 1920s pre-war "pillow style" baseball catcher's mitt distributed during the short-lived sporting goods era of the iconic Winchester Repeating Arms Company. This heavy, thick-cut black leather mitt features a classic deep pocket crescent/horseshoe padding layout, minimalist top leather web-tethering, and robust perimeter lacing binding the front and back face panels.

The reverse of the mitt boasts an adjustable thick leather wrist strap with its original rustic iron/brass buckle mechanism. Crucially, the mitt retains its rare, original embroidered black and red cloth manufacturer label reading "WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / MADE IN U.S.A. / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.". A fantastic, uncleaned crossover piece of Americana that appeals equally to vintage baseball memorabilia purists and antique firearms collectors.

Very Good vintage condition overall, showing authentic signs of heavy game use and historical patina. The dark leather remains thick and structurally sound with no major blowouts, missing structural components, or broken perimeter laces. The palm shows fine superficial spider-cracking and natural pocket indentation from catching. The original reverse cloth label is fully attached with frayed edges but clearly legible text. Interior model stampings are currently obscured by pocket darkening.
