Sights/Optics: The front sight is a King's triple bead dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch sight screwed into a dovetailed base. The tang sight is a Lyman adjustable aperture.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece select walnut with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a smooth metal crescent buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. The stock shows light wear with a few pressure dings and surface scratches. The LOP measures 13" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. This furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is fairly sharp. There is mild erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its restored metal finish. There are some scattered surface scratches, dings, and rub marks. There are operational wear marks from cycling the action. The screw heads show little to no and retain turntable slots. The engravings are clean and tastefully done. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This rifle presents as a tastefully upgraded example of Remington's classic slide action rimfire, featuring decorative engravings on the receiver that elevate its visual presence beyond standard production. Approximately 96% of a restored blue finish remains, applied evenly and presenting very cleanly. The long 24" barrel provides a graceful sporting profile and generous sight radius, and the overall presentation is attractive and refined.

Mechanically, the rifle is solid. The bore rates 8 out of 10, showing moderate wear with good remaining brightness and usable rifling. The pump action functions correctly, delivering the smooth, positive cycling for which the Model 12 series is well regarded. A non-matching buttplate is present, though all other numbered parts match.

This Model 12-C Deluxe Premier Grade is in an upgraded configuration rather than a factory original engraved grade. The engraving work is not factory applied, but it is executed with skill and complements the rifle's lines and period styling. Such upgrades were common in the mid twentieth century, when owners enhanced well-made sporting rifles to suit personal taste while retaining reliable mechanics.

As a 1935 production Model 12-C with attractive nonfactory engraving, high-quality restoration work, and correct function, this rifle should be evaluated as a desirable collectible with custom embellishment. It offers classic Remington slide action performance paired with elevated aesthetics and remains a compelling example of period-upgraded American rimfire craftsmanship.
