This lot consists of two vintage basketweave leather holsters manufactured by A. W. Brill. Founded in the late 19th century, the A. W. Brill Company of Austin, Texas became a highly recognizable makers of Western law enforcement holsters, supplying police departments, Texas Rangers, and private citizens with durable leather gear through the early and mid 20th century. Brill holsters are well known for their practical designs and distinctive basketweave stamping.

Both holsters display a classic basketweave pattern on the front panels along with the oval maker’s mark reading "A. W. BRILL / MAKER / AUSTIN, TEX." The leather shows honest handling wear and age consistent with use, with areas of scuffing and patina visible throughout.

The longer holster is configured for right-handed carry and will accept many revolvers and semi-automatic pistols with barrels around 6 inches in length. The shorter holster is configured for left-handed carry and will accept many revolvers and semi-automatic pistols with barrels around 5 inches in length. Together they present a useful pair of classic Brill leather holsters suitable for a variety of service-size handguns.
