Sights/Optics: The front sight is a white bead atop a serrated rib with a mid-bead. The top of the receiver is tapped for mounting optics, though none is included.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece synthetic with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, robust forend, and a serrated synthetic buttpad. The buttpad shows light wear and some dirt from time in the field. The furniture shows light scuffs, scratches, and general handling wear. There is a National Wild Turkey Federation medallion set into the right side of the stock. The LOP measures 14.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with light streaking. There is very light erosion in the choke. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its original metal finish. The finish shows surface scratches, rub marks, and expected handling marks. The pins are unmarred and remain fully functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this shotgun rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag NWTF Special Edition was manufactured during the late 1980s to 1990s and represents a specialized turkey hunting variant of Mossberg's popular pump-action platform. Produced by Mossberg, the 835 Ulti-Mag was designed to handle 3.5 inch magnum shells and became one of the most successful dedicated turkey and waterfowl shotguns of its era. The NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation) Special Edition adds collector appeal for turkey hunting enthusiasts.

Chambered for 12 Gauge 2.75, 3, and 3.5 inch shells with a 24 inch barrel, this shotgun is optimized for turkey hunting applications. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10, indicating strong internal condition. The action functions correctly.
